Oracle announced support for iPad with Siebel CRM

April 27th, 2010 by American Unit Inc.

Oracle, a major producer of customer relationship management software, recently announced that it would support mobile solutions for its Siebel CRM platform for its customers with the Apple iPad.

The company is combining the power of Oracle’s server-based REST interface with Apple’s iPhone OS SDK to allow Siebel CRM customers to create and deploy custom CRM applications for the iPad. Oracle hopes that the move will allow customers to leverage easy access to Siebel CRM data in real-time while they are on the go.

Oracle is providing a recorded demo of a sample application built with the REST interface and the iPhone OS SDK. The company hopes that its customers can collaborate more effectively with lower total cost of ownership and an improved user experience.

Anthony Lye, senior vice president for Oracle CRM, says the option will allow customers to increase worker efficiency.

"Siebel CRM support for the Apple iPad is yet another example of Oracle’s dedication to give customers the cutting-edge CRM options on the latest devices so they can grow their business and increase productivity," says Lye.

The announcement comes as Oracle recently acquired Phase Forward. The deal valued at $685 million will shore up Oracle’s vertical offerings in healthcare and life sciences, the company says.ADNFCR-3086-ID-19743415-ADNFCR
